After a slightly circuitous route via, San Diego, Clovis, Orleans, Paris, Boulder, Austin, Goettingen and London I have landed here, in Pern, in the Quercy Blanc area of the department of the Lot, in the Occitanie region in Southwest France!
During that time I’ve been a babysitter, ‘deli counter girl’, librarian, dish washer, lifeguard, office girl, receptionist, teacher, lab assistant, biochemist and a healthcare communications consultant. Throughout it all I have always been passionate about food – eating food, making food, sharing food. For the last 30 years I have been finding any excuse to come to France….so, when my husband Dominic suggested we just move here, how could I say no.
Now we are setting up a smallholding, learning as much as we can about where we live and indulging in all the amazing produce. We are looking forward to introducing people to this amazing, still kind of a secret, area of rural France.
